Life Saving Shop Talk

The Life Saving Shop Talk program aims to develop partnerships with barbershops and beauty salons to educate clients about organ, tissue, and eye donation. The program can be as simple as posting provided educational materials in each shop, or it can involve having a Community Educator from the designated OPO (LOPA or MORA) host an engaging in-person presentation or booth at the shop or salon. These efforts facilitate open and honest conversations about organ donation.

Every decision to become a registered donor can save lives and bring hope to those on the transplant waitlist. The goal of the Life Saving Shop Talk program is to encourage individuals, particularly in underserved multiethnic communities, to register as donors, spread awareness, and create a more equitable healthcare system. Together, we can make a difference.
